“SHAKE IT OFF!”
I hear a dad in the crowd calling out to his son on the soccer field
after he was pushed to the ground. Then, after the game ends, as our team exits the field, heads hanging low after a tough loss I hear
a different parent telling his son to “shake it off, you played good game”. Soooo…what
do I say to my son?
“I didn’t think that game would ever end, now
let’s hurry up, we need to get out of here before it starts snowing again.”
And we book
it outta there. I know, maybe I shoulda
said something in regards to the game and how well he played, keep his chin up, and all that stuff, but really, it’s
supposed to snow/sleet again.
I am so DONE with this crappy weather. WHERE IS SPRING?
I am so DONE with this crappy weather. WHERE IS SPRING?
So I guess
what I really need is my dad to tell me, “Kim, shake it off, spring WILL be
here before you know it!”
I hate winter, really I do…the haters
gonna hate, I know!
Shake
It Off - Taylor Swift
'Cause the
players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Winter, not the most colorful season.
Smile~
Kim
As I type
this I am listening to the sleet hit the window, reminding me that those 18
days can seem like a lifetime.

I think many people are agreeing with you! March is my uncle point, too because it is just so close to spring. However, we get so many steps forward only to fall right back again into winter's blah.
ReplyDeleteI want Boston to break the record, then it can stop!!
ReplyDeleteWe're all shakin' off a little more snow this morning. At least it's getting less and less each time. Maybe we need to be shakin' it off with some Zumba or Belly Dance classes. Interesting tree photo.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you coping with such a crappy winter. We had a lot of snow for the south east of England back in 2012. It was only a week and half of snow on the ground at most, but my goodness! I even considered eating my own children at some point, not because we were running out of food, just for the peace and quiet as school was out.
ReplyDeleteI am not a natural "shake it offer" kinda gal. I WISH I was...I think life would be so much easier and less stressful that way. But then again...I just wouldn't be me! haha. And I'm with ya on the whole winter thang, OVER IT! My son use to play baseball at Penn State, which is in the Big10 conference. Let's just say baseball, in March, in the northern states?!!??!!! "Let's get to the car its snowing again" was uttered MANY a time :) Thanks for joining in at Song-ography!
